A little inspiration...

My life so far.

Sorry I have been so lame lately. I have been so busy. As many of u know my family came u Utah to visit me for a month. I have loved them being here! It is so easy to just hang out with my fam and to push of my homework till last min. And to just say oh I will just go to sleep really late. So since my family is in town we have been going everywhere and gone to a lot of parties.

We went to the zoo. Which was really fun. We went with my aunt Di and her grandson, Collin, (I have posted pictures of him before. I love that little man), my aunt Ju and 2 of her kids, Shelby and Quinn, and then my mom, emilee, and the girls. It was so fun!

Of course my cousin Mallory and her husband Willie got married. And with that came tons of parties. It was an amazing wedding. And tons of fun. Congrats Mal and Willie!!

I also went down to provo to help Aly and Brant move. While I was on my way home a got in a car accident. It was not my fault. But I can not drive my car. I hate depending on others.

We have ton tons of shopping! It's what our family does best.

We have had a couple of BBQ's.

We went to Taylorsville's days and watched an amazing firework show.

We went to see the movie Brave. Which was amazing!! Everyone needs to go and see it.

Of course I have been doin tons of homework and been going to school even tho half the time I don't want to because I want to hangout with my family.

Of course we have had tons of slurpees

Also while my family has been here in Utah there has been tons of fires all over the valley. So crazy. It has taken along time to get there under control.

So Saturday was the best. I woke up to a text message from my best friend Aly Giles (fellows). Bryant and Aly asked me out on a picnic date. Of corse i said yes.I couldn't wait till they came to salt lake to hang out with me. But before I had my date i had planed a see day with my aunt Leslie and Lani. It was so fun. I sewed and unpicked what I messed up. And Made an iPod/iPhone running case. It turned out perfect.
And then it was time for my date with Aly and Bryant. It was so fun. Went when to City Creek Mall. And after the mall we went to my house and had a picnic on my porch above my roof. So fun we just talked and cot up with each other lives. It was really fun. After they went home me and my roommates made salsa and guacamole We ate and had some great conversations. In all and all it was a great day!!

Busy!!!!

Sorry I havnt posted in like a week but I have been crazy busy!! Every night this week I have been up to 1-3 or later in the morning, because I have had so much homework and dead lines and I have been at work later. And then I have been waking up early to work out. So I haven't had much sleep this week. So since I have been so stressed I have cut back on my hours. Which means I will not be shopping, going out to eat, no movies, no nothing. Which is fine, it's going to help me concentrate on school. But tonight I am going to my cousins bachelorette party, which should be way fun! And then tomorrow I am going to my aunt Leslie's house to sew! She is making a bag and I am going to make an iPod holder for when I run! I'm so stoked! And then we are going to swimming! I can't wait for Saturday it is going to be a nice break! I will post pictures of my project on Saturday or Sunday. Well I hope your day is going perfect!

Day of rest

Hello.
So today has been an amazing day. Today at church some one said, " It is the strongest character that God gives the most trials to. And you need to take that as a complement. God trust you" this hit me hard. Some one also said, "If we hold our hand with the Savior, we can wipe our tears with the other. And our vision will become clearer." Today was a good day. I learned a lot and I'm glad I decided to come to church today. I needed to here the things which I heard. They will help me and help my family. In relief society, which by the way I have never been a fan of, we talked about happiness. It was an amazing discussion. We talk about what makes us happy. An how we become happy. Like how many times have we caught ourselves saying. "I will be happy when..." And while we were talking about this our teacher changed the phrase to "I will be happy now..." or "I am happy because...". this made me really think about how I look at things. A goal I wrote down at the beginning of the year that I would look at everything in a positive attitude. Like the glass is half full instead of the glass is half empty. It was an amazing day at church.

So today after school I went to see my grandparents and we went over to my aunts house and my cousins son (idk what I am supposed to call him) I just call him Colin and he calls me Cassie. Haha. But so of course he loved to see me because I am his favorite and we decided to go to Blue Lemon for dinner with my grandparents, Di, and Colin. So yummy by the way! Hump day

So today has been a lazy day thats for sure. Well I didn't just sit around on my couch all day. Well I did but I was drawing my perspective drawing and I also put together another project for my perspective drawing class and also my google sketch-up homework. I plained on doing my space plaining class homework, book of mormon homework, and my finance homework. But that is why I am young and I can stay up till the wee hours of the night. Right now I am in my Perpective drawing class waiting for my teacher to come and check my drawing.
on the bright side I got a surprising email today. Long story short I dont have a place to live in the fall and the winter. I thought I was going to be able to stay in the place where I am now. Which I love but my landlord told too many girls that we could live there next semester. And only 4 girls can live in my apartment and I was the 5th girl she promised. SO I have been looking for a new place. And no real luck, some maybe's but nothing I am dyeing over. But my landlord just emailed me and said that one of the girls wants to sell her contract. And my landlord came to me first. So I haven't signed the contract but I have a place for the next year! Thank-goodness!! I didnt want to move. And I like my ward and my Bishop and I didnt want to move out of the ward. So it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders!

HEllo blog world!

Hello Blog world!
I know its been a year since my last blog post. I know Im lame. Well what have I been up to????
Well lets see....
Last fall semester was a super hard semester. I was talking 13 credits and working around 25-28 hours a week. I loved it because that ment money. But my grades suffered. Luckly but also unluckly 2 week before my finals I was at work and I got crazy, intense pain in my stomach.  Long story short I had a tumor on my ovary and then I had a cyst that covered the tumor. And the tumor was the size of a baseball and the cyst was the size of a basketball. I had to go in emergency surgery and I was on "bed rest" for about 2 weeks. I was not aloud to go to school, and I couldn't. I was so weak. So I had to get a medical withdraw. And then my doctor told me on my check up that she couldn't get it all out. And that I will have to go back into surgery in a month or two. So me and my parents thought it would be best for me to come home to Alabama for a semester. So I did. Which I am glad about. I got to babysit my amazing twin nieces everyday!!! And see all my family and friends!! It was a good break from school.Very much needed. It let me look at what I wont to do with my life. And I did figure out what i was going to do with my life. Which is good I think! I also figured out that I will be graduating in April.  And then after I graduate I am going to go on a mision. Im so excited to go on a mission! I know that this is the next step from me in my life.
So this semester I am taking 15 credits and I am working from 10-15 hours a week. And while I was in Alabama I missed seeing the Temple. So I decided that I am going to the Temple al least once a week I have a scheduled time I go after my class on Friday. And I love every moment of it!
I am still getting sick this semester. My stomach hurts like all day. And another long story short I went to the hospital and they told me that my glands that surrond my stomach are inflamed. And if any of you have known me when I was a kid/teenager I have had problems with my glands on my neck. So know I think that I must have a gland decease. ugh. my life.
But anyways there is my life in a nutshell this past year. I am going to try to blog a lot more this year. At least twice a week. But dont hold me to it! haha.

i have been so busy!!

My summer has been crazy!! Two of my best friends got married this summer, Meghan Derby (now Kingsford) and Aly Fellows (soon to be Giles). Its crazy, i love them both and wish them the best!!

So Summer has been filled with

• 2 jobs
• watching the girls whenever emilee's not home
• helping with weddings
• and my computer crashing

As i said before a CRAZY summer. And I cant believe its almost over.

I miss Utah so much. But I will miss Alabama when I leave, its my home.

I gave Aly a pampered chef bridal shower, and you know me no party cant go un-decorated. I guess that is why i am going into Interior Design.

The theme was Knotted in Love. So cute!

Dinner Tonight!!

Crock Pot Chicken Taco Chili

Servings: 10 • Size: 1 1/4 cups
Calories: 203.7 • Fat: 1.4 g • Carb: 33.3 g • Fiber: 10.0 g • Protein: 16.9 g

• 1 onion, chopped
• 1 16-oz can black beans
• 1 16-oz can kidney beans
• 1 8-oz can tomato sauce
• 10 oz package frozen corn kernels
• 2 14.5-oz cans diced tomatoes w/chilies
• 1 packet taco seasoning
• 1 tbsp cumin
• 1 tbsp chili powder
  
• 24 oz (3-4) boneless skinless chicken breasts
• chili peppers, chopped (optional)
  
• 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Combine beans, onion, chili peppers, corn, tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder and taco seasoning in a slow cooker. Place chicken on top and cover. Cook on low for 10 hours or on high for 6 hours. Half hour before serving, remove chicken and shred. Return chicken to slow cooker and stir in. Top with fresh cilantro. Also try it with cheese and sour cream.

Im so excited!!! I think that it will be a good one. Im also cooking cornbread. yum!!

Aunt Sassy!

Yes my name is Aunt Sassy!! I have been trying to teach the girls my name ever since I have got home. And one of them a couple of weeks ago called me Sassy while trying to say my name. And I LOVED it!!! So since then I have been pushing Aunt Sassy.

And they got it down!!

Today I asked them who is Sassy..

and they both pointed to me and said Sassy!!!

Last night was my night to make dinner.

And I must say it was super good!! And its so good and there was some left that my sister says we are going to eat it for leftovers tonight.

Crock Pot Santa Fe Weight Watchers Chicken

Servings: 8 servings • Size: 1 cup • Old Points: 3 pts • Points+: 4 pts
Calories: 190 • Fat: 1.5 g • Fiber: 5.6 g • Carbs: 23.1 g • Protein: 21 g

• 24 oz (1 1/2) lbs chicken breast
• 14.4 oz can diced tomatoes with mild green chilies
• 15 oz can black beans
• 8 oz frozen corn
• 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
• 14.4 oz can fat free chicken broth
• 3 scallions, chopped
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1 tsp cumin
• 1 tsp cayenne pepper (to taste)
  
• salt to taste

Combine chicken broth, beans, corn, tomatoes, cilantro, scallions, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, cayenne pepper and salt in the crock pot. Season chicken breast with salt and lay on top. Cook on low for 10 hours or on high for 6 hours. Half hour before serving, remove chicken and shred. Return chicken to slow cooker and stir in. Adjust salt and seasoning. Serve over rice (extra pts) with cheese on top.

And the rice you put it over is called

Lime-Cilantro Rice with Pineapple

• 1 Cup white rice
• 2 Cups water
• 2 tablespoons of butter
• Juice from 1 large lime
• 1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
• 1/2-3/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
• salt and black pepper to taste

In a large saucepan, combine rice and water. bring to a boil over high heat and then reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and cook for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to stand, covered, for 5 minutes, so rice can absorb more water.

After 5 minutes, add the butter and stir to melt. Add the lime juice, pineapple, and cilantro. Stir to combine, and then add salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

We have this rice all the time. And it went perfect with the Crock Pot Santa Fa Chicken.

• and TONS of blood takin

And in the end, what did they say....

"you might have a virus"

which means "I have no clue whats wrong with you."

So we sit FOREVER!!!!!! in the waiting room and when they finally bring me and my mom back to a room they lead us all the way to the back past 4-6 empty beds and put us in a room with a eye doctors chair!!! It didn't move back or spin or anything. And it was uncomfortable!!! I thought it might be a holding place. But I was wrong. So I finally ask my doctor if i could get moved to a different room with a bed and he said I will see what I can do. So a nurse came in and brought me a bed. Thank goodness cause we were there for like 2 hours. So my nurse (which im glad that he dosen't work in the children's ER cause he had 4 earrings in both ears, tattoos everywhere, a big skull ring, big chain necklace, and smelt like smoke. ) but he was super fast.

So I was sick from monday to tuesday a full week and a day. ugh!!!!!

while I was sick I was playing with the girls when I had a lot of meds in me and I thought it would be funny to put a diaper on my head. My family says im an embarrassment. And I say Im funny. The girls got a kick out of it!!

i couldn't get it to flip. oh well.

looking at this I am so weird!!!

Its Friday!!!!! :)

At 5 I am going to have a little sleepover (otherwise non as babysitting overnight) at the Herwigs. I cant Wait!! I love this family!!!!! I feel like im part of the family!

But yeah, I talked to my old roommate Dana, Anna and then my friend Erin today. And I loved it!! I miss these girls soo much!! And I miss all of my friends out in Utah!

Family COME BACK!!!!

My family left me like 4 hours ago and I am bored out of my mind! What am I going to do when I go back to college. I never thought I would be this way. But here I am.

I miss my fam. sad day... but lucky I have Annie Jr. practice tonight and then tomorrow im going to babysit over night the Herwigs, who I LOVE, and I cant wait for that! :) And then church on Sunday so dont be alarmed since the Blake/Vonk will be a lot smaller!!!

I suck at this.

Really I Had a plan....

Write every day on my blog.

That lasted 2 days. Yeah I suck.

Its hard when im home cause im not in my rhythm like I was in Utah. I would always post on my blog after I went to class. But I now everyday is different. Crazy times.

SO my goal this weekend if you remember was to make a height board for the girls and make a playhouse for the backyard for the girls. Neither one of these happened. of course. But I did (or My dad did) buy the wood for the height board. but that is it. I am planing on this weekend cutting it out and sanding it. While my sister, mom, and the girls go up to my Aunt Minda's house for my cousins graduation. I wish I could go but I got to hold down the fort.

On Memorial Day included going to the Wards picnic at a park next to the Mississippi River! I was fun. Me and my sister took the girls for a swim. They LOVED it. But didn't understand the sand under there feet. hahaha.

I loved it!!

Then I went to a movie with Kendall, Wes, and Shelby!! fun night out. :)

So my life is fulled with these little girls!! I love them. But Has made me realized that I am not ready for kids!! I love babysitting them but everyday takes a lot of energy.

But so my sister is packing for the trip and I am going to miss these girls when they are gone. But I will be getting some much sleep!!

well I got to go. I have a job interview!

wish me luck, I might have 3 jobs by the end of this week. lets cross our fingers.

Oh Tuesday... Oh Tuesday..

Today my sister was yet again called in to sub.... so I am the babysitter once again... and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! i love when my sister has to work cause I get the girls all to my self!! Also i am cooking dinner tonight!! YUM. I will post pictures of my success or of my failure.

Me and my brother are having a Harry Potter Marathon this week. We have watched the first and the second Harry Potters. And watching them again I realized I dont like the second cause of all the spiders! I have never been one to be afraid of spiders but in that movie they are HUGE!!! Im glad I wasn't Ron or Harry.

I signed up for EFY for the YSA today. Its in KY. Were i went to EFY one year. I think it will be way fun!! EFYSA

Its monday! :)

its been FOREVER!!!! and i am sorry about that. I have been very busy with finals, moving home, working at the coffee shop, babysitting the girls, cleaning up after the girls, playing with the girls, taking the girls on walks/ bike rides. Cant you tell my life revolves around them??

they LOVE my laptop and pressing the keys. They are walking everywhere and getting into EVERYTHING!!! I love them!!

But anyways two of my very greatest friends are getting married this summer and I wanted to congratulate them! I love you Aly and Meghan!! :)

By the way I will not be getting married anytime soon.

But I love being home but I miss my friends and family in Utah!!

I am still trying to find a second job. But in the mean time I am going to take on some projects around the house. First.....

But I am going to make the pock-a-dots pink and brown to match the girls room. My sister has said she will help me as much as she can. i am way excited to make this for the girls!! :)

Second....

I really want to make this for the girls. Of course I will paint and it wont look exactly like this picture, but hopefully close. And put my design skills on it. :) I really want to do this and my dad said he would help me. But because of my dads back I will be doing most of the building but he will help me get supplies and cut the wood. My sister thinks that the girls are too young for this kind of thing but I dont and Im building it. So she dosent get a say in it. This way when the girls go outside (witch they LOVE) they can go in there playhouse and not play on the grass. :)

Well I got to go and set the table for dinner.

my life...

My life lately has been very hectic!! I end school on the 12th of April and I have 3 more essays to write or finish writing for english. I have one paper left for New Testament. I have to make a color board for Textlies. Thank-goodness I only have like 2 ten question quiz's in Pearl of Great Price, and they are easy. And then I have drafting, I have to draft: one floor plan, one kitchen elevation, one bathroom section, a finish schedule, and a RCP (this shows were the lights go and where the switches and outlets go.) this is something that I learned is that the interior designer figures out where all the lights go.

So I haven't even started on any of that and I have 12 days left!!! go thing all my classes are on tuesdays and thursdays so that means i only have 3 and a half day. Most of my teachers have told us not to come on our last day! :)

What else have I done.....

Well I have figured out my rooming for the fall. That was a little hectic. You could ask my mom I called her like 5 times a day it seems like. BUt I am excited where I am moving. It BRAND NEW (like they are building them right now). And it is right across from my school. And it is going to be furnished, washer and dryer in each unit, granite conter tops, brand new energy saving appliances, huge walk in closets, kitchen, living room, fitness center, theater room, close to work and school, and internet and tv. (they give us a plasma tv.) so after saying this I pay $290 now and then in the fall they are raising the price to $310. And at this new place I will be paying $335. So for all of the extra things I just said I will any be paying $25 more. For me its worth it. A lot of people its not. But I am ready to get out of the place. I like it, but the internet SUCKS and I want my own kitchen.

Any ways what else have I done...

Well I was riding the Trax with some of my friends to go to California Pizza Kitchen (my brother gave me a gift card for my birthday and I have been saving it for a special day) any ways. SO we get on the Trax and this homeless guy is sitting on the bench and we are all standing. Well he starts to talk to me. And I being nice talked back. Well he invited me to sit across for him. So I did, so Im not rude. And he asks me all these questions like where Im from and also where I lived. I did not tell him that one. well the right place where I lived. ANd then it was time for us to get off and I told him goodbye and it was nice meeting him. And then he went to shack my hand and I shook back. And then he kissed the top of my hand.........lets say I was freakingout when we got off the Trax and thank goodness my friend had hand sanitizer. Dana is dyeing laughing, she is like crying at this point. Looking back it was funny. But at the moment, no.

Oh I also went to my cousin's baby shower. Congrats Marisa!!! And i loved seeing everyone. And my uncle and my other cousin fixed my tires! And my car. its running great now! I just got to get my oil changed. but i just don't know when with school, homework, and work. But I will figure out something.

So I think that covers it all.
