My life so far.

Sorry I have been so lame lately. I have been so busy. As many of u know my family came u Utah to visit me for a month. I have loved them being here! It is so easy to just hang out with my fam and to push of my homework till last min. And to just say oh I will just go to sleep really late. So since my family is in town we have been going everywhere and gone to a lot of parties.

We went to the zoo. Which was really fun. We went with my aunt Di and her grandson, Collin, (I have posted pictures of him before. I love that little man), my aunt Ju and 2 of her kids, Shelby and Quinn, and then my mom, emilee, and the girls. It was so fun!

Of course my cousin Mallory and her husband Willie got married. And with that came tons of parties. It was an amazing wedding. And tons of fun. Congrats Mal and Willie!!

I also went down to provo to help Aly and Brant move. While I was on my way home a got in a car accident. It was not my fault. But I can not drive my car. I hate depending on others.

We have ton tons of shopping! It's what our family does best.

We have had a couple of BBQ's.

We went to Taylorsville's days and watched an amazing firework show.

We went to see the movie Brave. Which was amazing!! Everyone needs to go and see it.

Of course I have been doin tons of homework and been going to school even tho half the time I don't want to because I want to hangout with my family.

Of course we have had tons of slurpees

Also while my family has been here in Utah there has been tons of fires all over the valley. So crazy. It has taken along time to get there under control.

Aunt Sassy!

Yes my name is Aunt Sassy!! I have been trying to teach the girls my name ever since I have got home. And one of them a couple of weeks ago called me Sassy while trying to say my name. And I LOVED it!!! So since then I have been pushing Aunt Sassy.

And they got it down!!

Today I asked them who is Sassy..

and they both pointed to me and said Sassy!!!

Last night was my night to make dinner.

And I must say it was super good!! And its so good and there was some left that my sister says we are going to eat it for leftovers tonight.

Crock Pot Santa Fe Weight Watchers Chicken

Servings: 8 servings • Size: 1 cup • Old Points: 3 pts • Points+: 4 pts
Calories: 190 • Fat: 1.5 g • Fiber: 5.6 g • Carbs: 23.1 g • Protein: 21 g

• 24 oz (1 1/2) lbs chicken breast
• 14.4 oz can diced tomatoes with mild green chilies
• 15 oz can black beans
• 8 oz frozen corn
• 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
• 14.4 oz can fat free chicken broth
• 3 scallions, chopped
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1 tsp cumin
• 1 tsp cayenne pepper (to taste)
  
• salt to taste

Combine chicken broth, beans, corn, tomatoes, cilantro, scallions, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, cayenne pepper and salt in the crock pot. Season chicken breast with salt and lay on top. Cook on low for 10 hours or on high for 6 hours. Half hour before serving, remove chicken and shred. Return chicken to slow cooker and stir in. Adjust salt and seasoning. Serve over rice (extra pts) with cheese on top.

And the rice you put it over is called

Lime-Cilantro Rice with Pineapple

• 1 Cup white rice
• 2 Cups water
• 2 tablespoons of butter
• Juice from 1 large lime
• 1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
• 1/2-3/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
• salt and black pepper to taste

In a large saucepan, combine rice and water. bring to a boil over high heat and then reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and cook for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to stand, covered, for 5 minutes, so rice can absorb more water.

After 5 minutes, add the butter and stir to melt. Add the lime juice, pineapple, and cilantro. Stir to combine, and then add salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

We have this rice all the time. And it went perfect with the Crock Pot Santa Fa Chicken.

Family COME BACK!!!!

My family left me like 4 hours ago and I am bored out of my mind! What am I going to do when I go back to college. I never thought I would be this way. But here I am.

I miss my fam. sad day... but lucky I have Annie Jr. practice tonight and then tomorrow im going to babysit over night the Herwigs, who I LOVE, and I cant wait for that! :) And then church on Sunday so dont be alarmed since the Blake/Vonk will be a lot smaller!!!

I suck at this.

Really I Had a plan....

Write every day on my blog.

That lasted 2 days. Yeah I suck.

Its hard when im home cause im not in my rhythm like I was in Utah. I would always post on my blog after I went to class. But I now everyday is different. Crazy times.

SO my goal this weekend if you remember was to make a height board for the girls and make a playhouse for the backyard for the girls. Neither one of these happened. of course. But I did (or My dad did) buy the wood for the height board. but that is it. I am planing on this weekend cutting it out and sanding it. While my sister, mom, and the girls go up to my Aunt Minda's house for my cousins graduation. I wish I could go but I got to hold down the fort.

On Memorial Day included going to the Wards picnic at a park next to the Mississippi River! I was fun. Me and my sister took the girls for a swim. They LOVED it. But didn't understand the sand under there feet. hahaha.

I loved it!!

Then I went to a movie with Kendall, Wes, and Shelby!! fun night out. :)

So my life is fulled with these little girls!! I love them. But Has made me realized that I am not ready for kids!! I love babysitting them but everyday takes a lot of energy.

But so my sister is packing for the trip and I am going to miss these girls when they are gone. But I will be getting some much sleep!!

well I got to go. I have a job interview!

wish me luck, I might have 3 jobs by the end of this week. lets cross our fingers.

Oh Tuesday... Oh Tuesday..

Today my sister was yet again called in to sub.... so I am the babysitter once again... and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! i love when my sister has to work cause I get the girls all to my self!! Also i am cooking dinner tonight!! YUM. I will post pictures of my success or of my failure.

Me and my brother are having a Harry Potter Marathon this week. We have watched the first and the second Harry Potters. And watching them again I realized I dont like the second cause of all the spiders! I have never been one to be afraid of spiders but in that movie they are HUGE!!! Im glad I wasn't Ron or Harry.

I signed up for EFY for the YSA today. Its in KY. Were i went to EFY one year. I think it will be way fun!! EFYSA

Its monday! :)

its been FOREVER!!!! and i am sorry about that. I have been very busy with finals, moving home, working at the coffee shop, babysitting the girls, cleaning up after the girls, playing with the girls, taking the girls on walks/ bike rides. Cant you tell my life revolves around them??

they LOVE my laptop and pressing the keys. They are walking everywhere and getting into EVERYTHING!!! I love them!!

But anyways two of my very greatest friends are getting married this summer and I wanted to congratulate them! I love you Aly and Meghan!! :)

By the way I will not be getting married anytime soon.

But I love being home but I miss my friends and family in Utah!!

I am still trying to find a second job. But in the mean time I am going to take on some projects around the house. First.....

But I am going to make the pock-a-dots pink and brown to match the girls room. My sister has said she will help me as much as she can. i am way excited to make this for the girls!! :)

Second....

I really want to make this for the girls. Of course I will paint and it wont look exactly like this picture, but hopefully close. And put my design skills on it. :) I really want to do this and my dad said he would help me. But because of my dads back I will be doing most of the building but he will help me get supplies and cut the wood. My sister thinks that the girls are too young for this kind of thing but I dont and Im building it. So she dosent get a say in it. This way when the girls go outside (witch they LOVE) they can go in there playhouse and not play on the grass. :)

Well I got to go and set the table for dinner.

Green day!!

So today is Green day, I found this out when I went to school today and I noticed a common color on everyone. Green. Lets just say I forgot. I knew it was this week and I knew it was today, yesterday, but when I woke up this morning it didn't cross my mind. I got dressed, got ready and walk to school. When I walked in to class what was I wearing a purple shirt from The Gap. HAHAHA. It just makes me laugh. But for once I didn't get pinched. I guess thats a plus. Anyways...... today was a good day. I had a good time in my classes and then I Skype with the Girls, jared, and ems. oh and mom in the background. But for some reason they could hear me but I couldn't hear them. weird. it seems like that happens every time. But I LOVED seeing the girls!!!! They were soooooooooooooo cute!! I cant wait to see them in on April 12th!! They are coming out here. Jared, Emilee, Mom, and the Girls are coming out to see me and the fam. And then help me move out of the Plaza (this is where i live now). And then Ems and Jared and the Girls are living the 19th. And then me and Mom will start are drive home. Yes I am coming home for the summer!! I cant wait to see everyone!!! And to be home again. Go to some amazing dance parties. Sleepovers. staying up till the wee hours of the night (even though I do that in college). Oh and did I mention Smallville the latest season (with Kendall!!!). Oh and maybe a trip to Atlanta to vist my much missed family the Stokers!!! Its going to be a great summer fulled with hard work. I am going to have 2 jobs maybe 3 if i can find another one. nanny anyone???????? I'm great with kids!! And I love them to death. Well im off to bed. I cant wait to see all of my Alabama friends!! And to sit on the Blake/Fellows row in church!! haha.

Sunday! :)

If you didn't know today is SUnday! The best day of the week! I love Sunday!! Its a day where I can relax and think about my week. and the week to come. I love Sunday because I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I am Mormon!! Yesterday me and my co-worker, Whitney!, were talking about me being a Mormon. Whitney has lived in Utah all her life and is now going to Utah University. She does know about Mormons but she was just asking questions about certain thing. Its was a really good talk. I loved it! And we both learned a lot. So today I wanted to bear my testimony of this church.

I will start it out like how we start it out in my singles ward.

Hi, my name is Cassie Blake and I am from Alabama and this is my second semester her at the LDS Business College. I know that this church and this gospel is the truth! I know that family can be together forever. I know that I will be able to see my loved ones who have already passed on again. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of the Lord just like Moses and Noah was. I know that Thomas S. Monson is called of God and that he is the prophet of this time and age. I know that the Lord will answer your prayers. If you ask the Lord with complete faith in him he will answer. I know that the Holy Ghost is always with us. He will let us know when things are right and wrong. I love living next to the Temple. the Temple is a great and wonderful place where you can talk to God and he can let you know what to do or just let you know he is there for you. I love living right next to Temple Square. Walking around temple square is so peaceful. You are able to here the sprit, even though out side the walls is a big city with all its noise. I love my family and I am grateful for all of the support that they and my friends give me. I know that I am a daughter of God. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Today the Fellows, my second family, is here visting Aly, one of my best friends who is attending BYU. They came down and went to Music and the Spoken Ward (this is a program that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir put on every Sunday morning) and then they are going to go to church with me. And I am going to sing today at church. I am so excited to see them! And to see Aly. I haven't seen her since Christmas. I cant wait to show them my school. If you didn't know LDC Business College is just one building that had 10 floors. I LOVE it!!!!!!!! The class sizes are small and its is the middle of everything in Salt Lake City. Perfect location!!

Also if you have been wondering about my Weight Watcher Journey and why I haven't posted about it in two weeks, well thats because I have not been good about counting my points each day. And I haven't weighed in because of that. But I have made a promise that I am going to be a lot better this week. So yeah.

Well after church and staying by to the Fellows. I am going to go to my Aunt Di's house where I am going to have some great food and have some great time hanging out with my aunt, my uncle, and my cousins!! We will watch the amazing show the Amazing Race. And talk a lot about everything.

P.S. Dana left me and again this weekend to see her new nephew. But lets just stay I am taking it a lot better then last week. last week I stayed in my room the whole time. But so far I have stayed up with some new friends till 3 in the morning and I have gone to the Temple on a Temple Trip and I went out for Ice Cream with a huge group and had tone of Fun.

Ok I haven't wrote in a week and I need to get back on track. So earlier this week I changed my background on my laptop to a picture of me and Madelyn. I LOVE this picture!!!!! By the way if you make it on my background of my laptop you are truly loved by me. It gets changed like once a week cause I want to see all of my old friends and remember some loved memories. Well back to the picture of me and Madelyn, we booth had really bad red eyes, so I decided that I was going to fix that. Well instead I deleted Madelyn's eye. And in the frantic moment I saved it and clicked the Xon the top of the window cause I couldn't look at it. Well there was know way to change it back so this picture was ruined. But it was still my background with both eyes on Madelyn's face. I tried seeing if I could save it as a picture, but no good. So I cant get myself to change my background because otherwise the picture with both eyes will be gone. Heres the pic.

Its so sad. :(

On a happier note I finished "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lighting Theft" so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday I read it from 5pm-1am. I loved it!!!! I couldn't get myself to stop cause I knew I was so close to being done. I cant wait to read the next book in the series. Who would have figured that I would have said the I LOVE READING!!!! This is crazy. Its like I need to e-mail all my English teachers and say hey I started reading in college and I love it! Thanks Aunt Ju!!!! your the best.

I love living so close the my family out here. For once I feel like they are my family not just people we come and see when we come to Utah. I love my Aunt Di and Aunt Ju, they feed me on Sundays and let me watch some TV. Its crazy for once my Aunt Ju's kids, my cousins, remember my name and remember who I am. I dont have to tell them who I am and them being like all shy cause they dont know me. And for once I feel like my cousins Lu and Mal, Aunt Di's kids, think of my as a friend. I love them so much! They might see me and a 13 year old like they used to, but I dont think they do anymore. Just the way we hang out and talk. I love playing Michel Jackson with them and watching The Amazing Race. Lives good!

so this morning i packed up into a concreet pillar.

i messed up some ones order at work. ( I put someones else necklace into another ones bag. and it is know where to be found.)

but then my Aunt, Di, and my cousin, Mal, called me and had me come over to hang out with them. We went to a frozen yogurt place, YUM!!!! And then we went to see the movie I am number four. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

where do i fit in?

ok everyone so this week fo me has been a little depressing. so 4 count them 4 of my friends has been asked to get married. ugh and 2 of my other friends are just waiting for the ring. and another one of my friends even though she says there not going to get married any time soon I can feel the proposal coming.

now dont get me wrong I do not want to get married!!! But a date would be nice.

but so I have been missing my fam a lot lately, with my birthday and with missing my nieces 1st birthday (which I feel like a horrible aunt)

I have been working a lot lately and my feet are killing me. but i guess I get what I ask for, 3 weeks ago I asked my boss if I could get more hours and she said for sure. But it has takin it toll on my feet. I had to buy foot insoles.

So there will be no report on Weight Watchers this week because I am working tomorrow in the morning, so another week of waiting but I should pull out a bigger number since I didnt go this week. Well thats the goal.

Can I just say I stink at Bananagrams.

Oh and today after this post I am going to go through all my clothes. Cause I have to many clothes that I havn't even wore since I have moved here. So I am going to give them to this store down here called Uptown Cheap Skate. You can turn your clothes in for money.

I feel like me and Dana spend way to many nights at home asking the question "what are we going to do?" " I guess watch Friday Night Lights." Which by the way we are already on season 3. I feel like out side of a couple of school friends we really dont ever hang out with anyone and we dont really know how to even strike up s conversation with people in our ward or guys for a matter a fact. i guess thats why I haven't got any dates so far after being out here. You know I was taught all my life that when you turn 16 you will get your first date. yeah that didn't happen. My first date even though it was fun when I got there, was when I was 17 and I was the guys 3rd choice. (it was a group date and the other 2 girls already had dates, oh and he asked both of the girls right in front of me.) And then everyone told me its ok Cassie that you only went on like 3 dates cause when you get to college you will get a date every week. wrong again. I guess its just me cause at first I was saying it was the guys but what I told you about all my friends getting married it must be me. Which make since cause when I go to church we just try to find an open spot and then I keep to my self. I mean I answer questions in sunday school and RS. And people know me (i think) but they dont KNOW me. SOoooooo I am going to sing at ward prayer this week and then in Sacrament next month.

Sis, you are one year older and hopefully wiser.

So my sister is turning 31 today. Can you believe it?? She has had a lot happen to her this year. She had twin girls that will also be turning a year older this month. I cant believe it. My sister moved from Wyoming to Alabama right after the babies were born. Can I just say, Me and my sister has never really lived together. If you dont know me and my sister are 12 years apart. So when my family moved from Utah to Alabama my sister went to college. So yes me and my sister lived together for 6 years. But I really only remember a couple of things about my sister and about Utah. So when she and rick and the girls moved into our house at first it was like they were on vacation. But then it became real. Well lets just say their was a couple of fights. But in the end when I left I missed it. I miss the girls playing, crying, and screaming. I miss making fun of rick.

I miss my sister.
